St. Louis, March 15, 2003 – For the summer of 2003, WDT is pleased to announce expansion of its successful engineering internship program. Engineering campus interviews are being conducted to fill up to ten temporary positions in the electronics, software, optical, and mechanical engineering areas. "This is a great pre-employment opportunity for juniors and seniors" said Kathy Gagliano of Human Resources. "They get to see Westar, and we have an opportunity to evaluate their performance before making a full-time offer." WDT engineers and HR reps are visiting Purdue, University of Missouri (Rolla and Columbia), and University of Illinois where more information on Westar's program is available.

According to Emily Gentry, Electrical Engineer and who has worked at Westar for two years, "Our program is awesome because each intern is assigned a mentor, and will work on real-projects and produce meaningful results for our key research areas or one of our four product lines...plus we have a lot of fun too!"
