The FPM F Series is one of our most flexible optical performance measurement solutions that is scalable to your display measurement needs. Whether you need to test display backlight modules for engineering development purposes, large screen TVs or monitor LCD modules for production QA/QC, or rear projection HDTVs for performance testing, we have a FPM solution for you.
All of our FPM F Series systems include a five axis motion system comprised of a three axis instrument deck and a two axis gimbaled optical probe to perform measurements while the display remains fixed and in an upright position. This design allows for viewing angle measurements without moving or rotating the large and heavy display module thus avoiding potential mechanical strains and unexpected thermal gradients within the display or TV.
One of the major benefits to our FPM F series is flexibility in interfacing with instruments, test pattern generators, and other test equipment. The FPM F Series handles accurate, repeatable measurements such as luminance, contrast ratio, and luminance / color uniformity, and also runs fully automated optical tests like color vs viewing angle, gamma, and gray to gray response time.
Our FPM F Series can be setup to run many standard VESA, ICDM, TCO, ISO, SPWG and other display measurement tests as well as programmable customized tests. For medium or large displays, our FPM-520-FO is engineered to perform full optical characterization on displays up to 67” (170 cm). The FPM-520-FO is ideal for optical measurements of flat panel display modules, backlight modules, and finished LCD TV products.
For very large displays, our FPM-530-FO is engineered to perform full optical characterization on displays up to 84” (213 cm). The FPM-530-FO is ideal for optical measurements of large flat panel display modules, rear projection TVs, and finished LCD TV products.
The FPM F Series comes standard with a fiber-coupled spectroradiometer and options for up to two additional direct-view instruments. Our controller software, ViewPoint, interfaces with most optical instruments on the market today. If you already own an instrument but need an automated system, we most likely have a remote interface already available for manual or automated control. However, if you don’t already own an instrument, your system can be configured with one for direct view measurements. Of course, automated display testing doesn’t stop with the instrument, a good lcd tester or test pattern generator that can drive display modules or finished products is a must. Our most popular lcd tester for display drive is our T-Drive II but as with optical instruments, our ViewPoint software interfaces with most test pattern generators on the market today.
