QuickTest
TM
II - Small Format Display QC Test System
High speed QA and production test for small displays

The QuickTestTM II performs rapid statistical Qualification and QC testing on cell phone displays, hand-held displays, and other small format LCD and OLED displays. QuickTestTM II is a successor to our QuickTest I system which is installed at LCD manufacturing facilities world-wide. QuickTestTM II provides automated testing of the following parameters:

  • Brightness
  • Contrast
  • Color
  • Color Gamut
  • Gamma
  • Cross-Talk
  • Uniformity
  • Response Time
  • Flicker
  • Voltage and current (optional)
  • Reflective / Transflective (optional)
  • user programmable test sequences allow custom tests

If you need viewing angle measurements, contact us about our QuickTest III system.

   QuickTestTM II Includes:

  • Control PC with QuickTestTM II Software
  • LCD Monitor
  • Light-safe test enclosure
  • Semi-automated material handling system
  • Integrated sensor suite
  • Spectrometer
  • CCD camera
  • PMT flicker and response time detector
  • Test trays (optional)
  • T-DriveTM SD-100 small format display drive system

QuickTestTM II Benefits: In the past, Qualification and QC testing of small displays often involved a dark room laboratory with laboratory instruments mounted on home-made fixtures. The testing was labor intensive and took too long to acquire significant statistical data. This has resulted in very long test times for qualification testing and very limited QC testing.

Now, QuickTest
TM II makes rapid qualification testing and statistical QC testing possible! QuickTestTM II provides an entire dark room laboratory in a box. QuickTestTM II can be used on the production line or in the lab and the typical test time is less than 30 seconds per display. The QuickTestTM II software performs Pass/Fail testing and calculates statistical process parameters, such as Cpk, while logging all test data to a database.

  Before QuickTestTM With QuickTestTM
Calibration process Disjoint calibration approach On-site calibration service ensures QuickTestTM II  measurements meet accuracy specifications
Facilities Dark room laboratory required “Dark room in a box” suitable on the production line or in a laboratory
Instruments Several laboratory instruments mounted on optical benches with manual set-up and home-made fixtures Spectrometer, CCD camera, and PMT instruments self-contained. Semi-automated material handling
Drive electronics and Tooling Custom drive boards are required for each display. boards are often not well documented or supported, yet are crucial to driving the display T-Drive SD-100 drives RGB, CPU, SPI, and other small display formats. Westar offers New Display Tooling (NDT) solutions that allow a custom display to be tested on the QuickTest II platform.  Click here for more information on NDT.
Test time Manual measurements result in very long test times (often 1 hour or more) Typical test time is less than 30 seconds.
Repeatability Very difficult with manual measurements Controlled instrument alignment, known display drive, accurate instruments, and light-safe environment result in highly repeatable measurements.
Statistical QA/QC Test time too long to acquire statistically significant data Rapid test time allows statistical sampling.  Calculation of Cpk  and other statistical parameters is built-in.
Qualification Testing Labor intensive, requires a long time, manually generated reports Short test times and automated report generation
