video adapter, also called an LCD controller
board, converts analog video from
your image generator, PC, or camera source
to the native format of your
flat panel display.

A video
adapter (VA) may also be called an LCD
controller, because the board provides the
entire interface to the LCD panel, including
digital video interface, switched power, and
inverter interface. Westar’s VA’s are
suitable for a wide range of LCD’s. Our
free configuration software allows you to
set up parameters for both your video input
and your selected LCD Please see the

Our VP3 (PC/104) and VP4 (3ATI) provide
analog to digital video conversion in a
small form factor. The VP4 includes
video rotation capability.
Our VP6 is suitable for applications that
require high fidelity analog to digital
conversion, windowing, or digital brightness
and contrast control, without re-sizing or
frame rate conversion.
Our VP7 provides similar functionality as
the VP6, plus re-sizing and frame rate
conversion, for resolutions up to UXGA. The
VP7 also has an optional daughtercard for
NTSC or PAL conversions, using static mesh
or field-to-frame conversion techniques. The
VP7 is available in (3) form factors!
Our VP9 provides the industry's most
flexible video combining (see box on right)
solution in a single circuit board.
Video
combining refers to various techniques
for combining two independent video
streams. Our video combiner solutions
also allow the output timing to be
completely independent of both video
inputs. Typical video combining
techniques include alpha blend, RGB
keying, split screens, foreground window
over a background image, etc.
