In addition to converting PC-generated analog RGB for TFT panels, the VP7 is great for digitizing non-standard video formats such as:

• RS-343, RS-170 inputs
• STANAG inputs, and
• NTSC/PAL inputs

This makes the VP7 an ideal LCD controller for applications requiring:

• RS-343 to LCD conversion
• RS-170 to LCD conversion

• Interlaced to progressive scan conversion
• Scaling and frame rate converting

Output timing to the display is completely independent of the input timing. Other features include: Conversion contrast control with (3) control choices (analog, digital, or remote control), left/right & top/bottom image flip, and control signals and power for your backlight inverter. The VP7 supports up to UXGA inputs and outputs. The compact size (4.00" x 5.00") and low power consumption makes this a great solution for your embedded application. The VP7 includes an onboard LVDS interface to drive your LVDS panel.

The VP7configure™ software gives you complete control to set up the VP7 for your application. The software installs on your Windows XP PC and communicates to the VP7 through a com port on the PC. The software includes a wizard that steps you through six areas of setup, including: Input setup, Output setup, Scaling and Positioning, Power Sequencing, Contrast and Brightness setup, and finally input capture adjustments.

Once the configuration is defined, it can be saved permanently to non-volatile memory in the VP7.
