A video scaler receives video, stores the video in a frame memory, and re-transmits the video in a different format. Format changes may include changes in any or all of the following: frame rate, line rate, resolution, active area, etc. In addition, scaler may offer special functions, such as digital contrast or brightness adjustments, selectable area of interest sized to a selectable window on a selectable background, etc.

The VA-1 video scaler provides advanced functionality at a reasonable price. Offered in a compact form factor, the VA-1 can take your video format and convert it to a format more suitable for your visual system.

The VA-1 supports the following video formats:

  • Inputs: RS-343, RS-170, NTSC, PAL, STANAG, DVI-I (TMDS and analog RGB)
  • Outputs: RS-343, RS-170, STANAG, DVI-I

VA-1
™ Configuration Tool

The VA-1 includes LVDS video outputs necessary for many of today’s TFT flat panels.

Our configuration software allows you to logically set up the VA-1 for your unique application. After defining the incoming video format and desired output format, the user defines the input video area of interest (AOI), and placement of the AOI within the active area. Remaining active area can be filled with a selectable background color.

With VA-1 , the output frame rate can be completely independent of the input frame rate, locked to the input frame rate, locked to an external sync (optional) or be a ratio of the input frame rate.
